The 6'4 forward from Roger Bacon, Erik Edwards, was named GCLCentral Player of The Year in volleball earlier today. Edwards was named first team GCL Central as Junior. This past season he was also awarded GCL Central Defensive Player of The Year and was a first team selection in basketball. Edwards led his team in rebounds (5.5) and was third on the team in scoring(10) this season. Roger Bacon fell a game short from reaching states after losing a hard fought game to Versailles in the regional final. They knocked off Summit Country Day, who was favored to repeat as state champions in the regional semis.
